Home, Safe
Shot with an iPhone 11 with the Stop Motion Studio Plus app. Edited in Adobe Premiere Pro.
A personal project while staying home during the COVID-19 pandemic in the spring and summer of 2020.
I told myself in March of 2020 that I would make an animation every day that Michigan was in lockdown. I made it through 67 days without missing a single one, creating over 25 minutes of footage with Filament (Fil for short).
Of course, the best way to learn is by doing. This series taught me a lot about animation, timing, shot composition, perspective tricks, prop making, and sound editing... It was an unexpected crash course in stop-motion production and a way to practice, practice, practice.
The above is a 3-minute short film version of the project. All of the clips are available unedited on my social media. A local newspaper wrote about this project! You can read about it here.
